City Garden Farms wants to farm your lot, plot or yard

The more we grow, the less you mow.

City Garden Farms is Portland's premier pioneer of urban agriculture. We want to partner with you to farm your unused, underutilized lot, plot or yard to grow abundant amounts of local vegetables for you in Portland. What we want to do most is produce food in the city.

If you have a lot, plot or yard you'd like to hand over to an urban farmer to grow vegetables, we want to farm your land in the city. We're ready to visit your land and assess it for possible use in our network of back yard farms. If this or any of the following points appeal to you, contact us to set up a consultation.

• You are interested in becoming part of the burgeoning local food movement.

• You have a minmum of 1000 sq ft (eg 20x50 or 30x35 etc) of land (in Portland) or a yard that you just want to see put to good use... and that will benefit all of us. 

• You would like to look out your kitchen window and see vegetables rather than grass growing in your yard.

• You have always wanted a garden in your yard, but were just never successful with the garden you started.

• You don't have time to grow vegetables for your family but picking fresh vegetables from your yard is something you desire.

• You are committed to feeding your family organic and gmo free vegetables.

• You understand that using unsustainable fuel sources to truck and fly in food from around the world just doesn't make any sense. (We intend to reduce fuel usage as much as possible thus stabilizing the prices we can offer for our vegetables.)

• You have read any of Michael Pollan's books.

• You want to understand and participate in sustainable agricultural practices.

• You want to eat the heirloom vegetables your great-grandparents enjoyed.
